This is one of my all-time favorite photos, taken March 17, 2007 at the Grossology exhibit at the Pacific Science Center in Seattle. Papa (my ex) was reading Caleb (age four) the history and tales of the skulls in this case. The look on Caleb’s face (seen here) as he listened to his dad was absolutely priceless. He was mesmerized! It creates so much joy to watch children learn and show wonder in all the things we adults take for granted.

I miss that kid. We were good buddies, and I wonder often about him.
